Sadie Wilcox

BIO

 

Sadie Wilcox is a multimedia artist and educator. She received her BA from Wesleyan University and her MFA from the University of Michigan School of Art & Design. Her video work has been included in screenings at the Center for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow, the de Young Museum in San Francisco, Harvard University's Carpenter Center for the Arts in Cambridge, and Extravagant Bodies Film Festival in Croatia, Serbia, and Slovenia. She was recipient of the Best Documentary Award at the XII Black International Cinema in Berlin and her video editing tied for First Prize at the KynnysKINO Film Festival the Finnish National Gallery in Helsinki.

Sadie has received visual arts funding from various sources, including the Center for International & Comparative Studies, the Center for the Education of Women, and Grant Opportunities for Collaborative Spaces at the University of Michigan. Her work has been published in TDR: The Drama Review published by the MIT Press and About Performance #8 published by the Department of Performance Studies at the University of Sydney, Australia. Sadie currently serves as Program Manager for BayKids, a nonprofit organization that provides filmmaking opportunities for hospitalized youth. She teaches art in the Community Education Department at the San Francisco Art Institute and works as a teaching artist and videographer at the Asian Art Museum.
