STATEMENT Remapping of Memory is a multimedia video installation that explores the process of relearning to walk in the aftermath of violence and acute injury. Using choreographed elements of physical movement and gesture, written text, and audio, the project reconstructs traumatic memory fragments associated with the physical and emotional recovery process. The visual composition and structure of the video suggests the impact of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) on human physiology, brain function, and memory formation. Through the use of a multi-channel video installation, the work combines visual imagery and new media technology to translate the memory of violence into physical gestures and visual metaphor.
